ST Audio release Mac OS X drivers for DSP24 series of audiocards
Bucheon City, Korea - Nov 19, 2002 - ST Audio release Mac OS X drivers for DSP24 series of audiocards.
New CoreAudio compatible drivers for Apple's latest operating system, Mac OS X, are available for download on www.staudio.com. ST Audio now supports Mac OS X compatibility for the DSP24 series of cards. The new drivers allow users to install DSP24 PCI cards in modern G3 and G4 Power Macintosh systems.
New drivers are provided for the DSP24 Value - one of the most affordable 24bit/96kHz audiocards today, the DSP24 MEDIA 7.1 package - the worlds first professional 24bit/96kHz audiocard with built-in hardware GM/GS synthesizer and of course for the top selling and award winning DSP2000 C-Port system: one of the most successful multi I/O audiocards available today. Other and future DSP24 based products are supported on the Macintosh plattform as well.
The drivers have been successfully tested with popular Mac OS X audio applications such as Emagic Logic Audio Platinum, BIAS Peak, BIAS Deck, TC Works Spark and Ableton Live - among others. All special functions of the cards (realtime hardware monitoring, built-in digital mixer, ultra-low-latency support, ...) are provided without limitations.
When asked about the new drivers Claus Riethmueller - Product Manager Europe for ST Audio said, "Apple produced a great new operating system that works very well for music production. We are proud to support Mac OS X. Together with our existing drivers for Windows, ST Audio now delivers a true cross plattform product.".

ST Audio introduce the "SRC VI" Real-Time Sample Rate Converter/digital patchbay at NAMM 2002.
Bucheon City, Korea - Jan 14, 2002 - ST Audio release new "SRC VI".
The release of ST Audio's new SRC VI provides numerous solutions for the ever increasing demands of today's home/pro digital studio. With the SRC VI, tasks such as real-time sample rate conversion and digital patchbay requirements are covered with ease.
Visitors are welcome to view the new SRC VI in addition to the full range of ST Audio equipment in Booth:#4835 at the NAMM international trade show to be held between January 17-20, Anaheim, California, USA.
With users trying to avoid excessive AD/DA conversion between devices in the studio, digital streaming between devices is becoming common place. As more and more devices in your studio including S/PDIF or AES/EBU digital interfaces (mixers, keyboards, dampler, DAT etc) users are finding connectivity a real burden. Enter the SRC VI.
Main application examples include:
- Providing digital patchbay/switchbox for up to 6 AES/EBU and S/PDIF signal
streams
- high quality realtime sample rate convertion (bypass possible)
- digital signal distribution
- master clock generation (WordClock out)
- signal convertion (AES/EBU <-> S/PDIF)
- signal repeating to extend the max. length of digital connections
You can connect up to six AES/EBU or S/PDIF input streams at the same time to the SRC VI (5 inputs are on the back side of the product, one input in each format is placed on the front for easy access). There are six separate outputs (2 AES/EBU, 2 optical S/PDIF, 2 coaxial S/PDIF) that are sending out the signal that has been selected on the front panel. One output in each format is placed on the front side for easy access, the other outputs are on the back panel. The input signal can be sent out via the outputs 1:1 if desired (with the same sample rate). Also the sample rate can be changed if needed. There is even a WordClock in- and output for internal and external synchronisation.
When asked about the new release Claus Riethmueller - Product Manager Europe for ST Audio said, "The development of our SRC VI represents where studios are at at this point, clean signal path, easy routing and format conversion between devices is of the utmost importance.".
